At what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?

I am considering buying a second hand Rover 114GSi with 75,000 miles on the clock and was just wondering about when the recommended time for a CAM belt change would be? Also any reports on whether or not these are reliable cars would be most appreciated! At what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?If you don't know when the belt was changed last then change it asap. And don't worry about buying a rover jut don't buy a VW golf, not that i'd like to stereotype anybody but they seem to be driven by over opinionated prats. :@)

As for engine problems they are about average but don't use crap oil as it gunge's up and goes creamy with condesation in the breather pipes, which is then confused with a head gasket problem and end up costing you a packet for no reason at all.If there is coolant loss or overheating then start to worry about the headgasket. At what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?if its not broke don't fix itAt what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?40000 MILESAt what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?The Rover is a fine automobile. The belt should have been changed at 60k.At what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?STOP....i would never reccomend anyone buying a rover.rovers are driven by doddery fools, wearing caps and nodding churchill dogs in rear windows.seriously,i have never and i mean never seen a rover driver who doesn't make a mistake whilst driving,i avoid them at all costs,if behind me i stop to let them get away,in front of me, i slow right down,in car parks i never park near them and when they are driving near me i give great caution.WOW thats the first time i put that in writing, maybe it's a personal thing with me.i drive a vw golf.

cam belts need changing every 60k at least. At what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?the belt should be changed at 60,000, even if the seller tells you it has been done get a mechanic to pull the covers back just to verify that it has been changed. And no they are not good engines they give head gasket problems all the time, on saying that the car should be very cheep so it may be worth taking a chance on.At what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?every 60 or 70 thousand miles . they are ok for shopping and small journeys but long journeys are a bit of drag obviously they are rovers so build quality isn't up to much they ok bab !At what mileage/age would you suggest a CAM belt change on a Rover 114GSi?With 75K it is overdue and my advise would be with any car that you do not know the history %26quot;get it changed%26quot; irrespective of the mileage and recommendations

If you buy it and don't bother changing it as a matter of course and have the misfortune to have the thing break and bend valves and I can assure you it will. You will be in for a costing of 1000-1500 plus so you see the cost of changing it before this happens at about 200 is not too bad
