How do i change the belt on a self propelled lawn mower?

it is a self propelled lawn mower but it has to be pushed. Assuming its the belt, how do i change it?How do i change the belt on a self propelled lawn mower?All lawnmowers are different but the principal is the same. A belt runs from the engine to the transmission that delivers power to the wheels. My mower ( craftsman) has a cover underneath and you first remove the blade then take off the cover and that's where the belt is. If your mower has front wheel drive its probably somewhat the same.
